The “Soavecaster”

Dear friends, today I would like to talk to you about “Soavecaster”, the beautiful guitar that stands out in our poster.

As those of you who already know the history of the festival know well, In the 2006 we have decided to dedicate each edition of this review to a theme, to an event that deserved to be celebrated and remembered. We started right in 2006 remembering the 10 years since the tragic death of Marcel Dadi, whose from 1997 we have chosen to dedicate our event, and to do this we created the “Dadicaster”, guitar that, starting from a stock Fender Stratocaster, we decorated with motifs that recalled the great master. We have achieved this 2 specimens, one of which to be drawn by lot and given as a gift to one of you who participated in one of the evening concerts; the second to be allocated to the festival archive.

Take a good look at our posters, and you will be able to recognize in each subsequent edition an anniversary of great importance for the history of music or of our beautiful Italy.

This year's edition, which was prepared in 2023, could not fail to celebrate an important recognition that our town had received the previous year, when it was voted on “Borgo dei Borghi 2022” from transmission “Kilimanjaro” of Rai 3.

So that's it, purchased two Fender Stratocasters American Pro II, I'm calling the very good Renzo Pagliani, I illustrate the theme to him and explain how I would like to develop it. In particular, I tell him that in addition to celebrating Soave, I want to pay tribute to everyone else 19 Italian municipalities that had participated in this beautiful challenge, so that the memory is not just praise for my village, but you become a party shared by all the other competitors.

Renzo grasps the message immediately and together we prepare to compose the map of the decorative project, organizing all its pieces. And so we decide to create a slush fund (excellent contrast with the red, dominant color of both the Soave coat of arms and the logo “Village of Villages”) and to maintain it throughout the body. Then, as in the past, we place our glorious castle on the upper horn of the guitar, always in a nocturnal atmosphere. The logo “Village of Villages” it will take up the entire pickguard, while the Soave labarum will have to make a beautiful display on the remaining surface of the body. On the back seen vertically we plan to place the Soave coat of arms on the spring cover plate and all around, to indicate an ideal embrace, i 19 coats of arms of the other competing municipalities.

The physical realization of the work (actually, of two, given that there are two guitars made) will occupy Renzo for more than a month, but the result is truly of great value.

Don't forget that one of these two jewels is destined to enrich the collection of one of you because, when whenever you enter the”Auditorium Comm. Luigi Pasetto” from the “Rocca Sveva winery” to attend a concert, you will be given a free colored ticket with a number. Bene, at the end of the concert on Sunday 28 April, one will be drawn from the urn in which the stubs of all the tickets issued will be collected. If the owner of the daughter of the ticket drawn will be in the room, he will take the guitar home with him. However, if no one presents the winning ticket, we will announce the drawing on the festival website and on the Facebook and Instagram pages and publish the details. (number and color) of the ticket drawn. Done this, we'll wait until 15 May someone show up with the lucky ticket to collect the guitar. If this does not happen the “Soavecaster” will not be assigned, and it will remain here to enrich our archive.
